how do i print multiple images on one sheet in Photoshop CC?

I can't even seem to select more than one image, surely there must be an easier way than using Layers to create a collage? I have used Easy-PhotoPrint EX package until now but I need something more professional now? Do you print multiples from Photoshop or some other package? I am able to size and print a single image but not multiples on the same page? I print lots of photos so can't do the layer thing each time.

There is no reason it can not be used for cut paper.  Image do not need to be size sized or rotated.  The script will handle that. You can select any 9 image in a folder and the will size the fit the 4"x6" tiles.  If the image do not have a portrait or landscape 3:2 aspect ratio the sized images will be centered virtual crops. The image are not cropped they are masked. You can manually tweak the crop by moving the image before printing.  If you omit the borders and grout the document create will be 12"x18" with the 13"x19"   http://www.mouseprints.net/old/dpr/PasteImageRoll.jsx

    There are two other options. 1) Record an action that will resize and place the images for you. Or, if you have access to Lightroom with CC subscription, Lightroom will do this using the PRINT module and is super easy to use. Just set up the template, select an entire group of photos and then let Lightroom place them 4-up and either print directly to your printer or save as JPG for printing later.

    Further to the above, an example would be File- Automate- Contact Sheet II for 4 selected photos, works well but I can't figure out how to get rid of the white spaces between the photos, I have sized the page to A4 and the individual pics to a quarter of this each but still end up with white spaces between them- I have the dialogue in this box checked on Automatic spacing with zero values.

    You should be able to select more images then you have ink to print.  Have you looked at batch, image processor or the Bridge.  Photoshop is extremely powerful but Photoshop is not learned in a short time and many thing are not intuitive. You in all likelihood will never use all the features Photoshop has.  Like the rest od us you will onle user the features you have a need to use.

    Thank you for all your replies, your collage system looks great and I will certainly have a go when the pressure eases off and I have some time to play around with it. Do you need a specialized printer to deal with the continuous roll?

    I love Photoshop Layers and actions and use them widely, but for now just want to know if there is a quick automatic function somewhere to print specifically  four 6x4"  pictures or two 8x12" pictures (which have been correctly sized, or not) on an A4 page from Photoshop CC. There used to be a facility under "automate" in CS4 but I can't find anything similar now? I can't find it in Bridge either, which would also be fine for my current purposes.

    Your joking of course right not using layers in Photoshop is a capital offence.  Layers is where all Photoshop power come from and they are so easy child's play...

    Photo Collage Toolkit

    Photoshop scripting is powerful and I believe this package demonstrates this.

    The package includes four simple rules to follow when making Photo Collage Template PSD files so they will be compatible with my Photoshop scripts.

    1. Size the photo collage templates for the print size you want - width, height and print DPI resolution.
    2. Photo collage templates must have a Photoshop background layer. The contents of this layer can be anything.
    3. Photo collage templates must have alpha channels named "Image 1", "Image 2", ... "Image n".
    4. Photo collage templates layers above the background layers must provide transparent areas to let the images that will be placed below them show through.

    There are twelve scripts in this package they provide the following functions:

    1. TestCollageTemplate.jsx - Used to test a Photo Collage Template while you are making it with Photoshop.
    2. CollageTemplateBuilder.jsx - Can build Templates compatible with this toolkit's scripts.

    8. BatchOneImageCollage.jsx - Used to Automatically Batch Populate Collage templates that only have one image inserted. The Collage or Image may be stamped with text.
    9. BatchMultiImageCollage.jsx - Used to Automatically Batch Populate Any Photo Collage template with images in a source image folder. Easier to use than the interactive script. Saved collages can be tweaked.
    10. BatchPicturePackage.jsx - Used to Automatically Batch Populate Any Photo Collage template with an image in a source image folder
    11. PasteImageRoll.jsx - Paste Images into a document to be print on roll paper.
    12. PCTpreferences.jsx - Edit This File to Customize Collage Populating scripts default setting and add your own Layer styles.
