Question

How do I select which monitor is the secondary display?

I have a rather unique system in which I have 5 monitors connected to my computer. 2-4k, 2-1080P and 1 Hurion touch tablet. When I select Secondary display in Photoshop Classic CC the secondary display defaults to the Huion touchpad. Is there a way to select one of the other 3 large monitors like the 2nd 4K instead of the touch tablet?

I find that by selecting the secondary display and having it default to my smallest monitor, defeats the purpose of using the secondary display.

The only way I can get it to another monitor is to completely disconnect the touch tablet.

Wonderful that we now pay for this product every year, forever, and this is still an issue. I'll contribute to the bug in hopes that it will eventually get prioritized. No reason we shouldn't be able to easily choose which display is used for the secondary window.

I will now answer my own question.

After spending an hour+ with Windows tech support, we determined that this is an Adobe application bug.

We discovered that when opening the "Secondary Window" in full-screen mode, the second window will default to the next monitor in line sequentially in counter-clockwise fashion according to how they were originally set up. So mone goes from 5-4-3-2-1-5.

If the "Secondary Window" is opened without the "Full Screen" option selected, the Secondary Monitor can be moved to any monitor and resized accordingly.

Adobe needs to look at this and make it possible to drag the secondary display to any monitor that is connected to the computer when the "Full Screen" mode is selected.

If it is an Adobe problem you should report it on Adobe feedback site. Photoshop Family Customer Community

Yes, I meant Lightroom Classic CC I have things set up similarly. My second monitor in Windows settings is one of my 27" monitors while the touch tablet is #5. My secondary screen goes to only the tablet, unless I unplug it.

P.S. I will repost in Lightroom.

Hi

You mention Classic CC so this sounds like a Lightroom question?

I use three displays and Lightroom uses the next numbered display (in Windows settings) as my secondary Lightroom monitor.

So :

Lightroom on screen 1 - Secondary is screen 2
Lightroom on screen 2 - Secondary is screen 3

Lightroom on screen 3 - Secondary is screen 1

My mistake, it is Lightroom CC and the secondary display setting under the Window tab. I can move LR and photoshop to any screen, but the secondary screen in LR only displays on Monitor #5 which is the tablet.
