How do open a layer in raw photo edit thing? Or is not possible?

Is it possible to open a layer the same way as a photo opens in that raw edit thing.
Are there some alternatives with a different name?

Thanks for reading!

If it's a JPG, you can use Bridge to open it in Camera Raw. Select your image and go to File > Open in Camera Raw...

I should add that Camera Raw is slightly different from Camera Raw as a filter in Photoshop:

@Myra Ferguson – well worth adding!

Edit: I just checked the link, I was expecting it to be more informative regarding the differences with working with linear gamma raw camera data vs. rendered gamma encoded data, white balance and exposure differences etc,

Select your layer and go to Filter>Camera Raw Filter.

Camera is also available as an adjustment/ filter directly in PS and thus can be applied to layers.

There are no layers in Adobe Camera Raw if that's the question. Or Lightroom Classic. Raws much be rendered, then opened in Photoshop before it can accept layers.
