How do you make an animated banner for Tumblr?

I just downloaded something from adobe involving Photoshop. It's to make an animated banner and graphic for tumblr.com content of mine. I have a deadline which is tomorrow at 5pm. If some mentor or advice you can give to help a newbie and beginner at adobe programs meet this deadline. I would be very thankful for you.

How does the something from Adobe work does the something have a function a name? What is tumble.com banner like? What kind of content  does a newbie have. Newbie should not have deadlines.  Photoshop has a huge learning curve. If you have a deadline you may want to avoid Photoshop learning curve.
