Question

How do you set "sort by" in Adobe Bridge to "by filename" so it will stay there?

I am using Adobe Bridge 7.0.0.93 and Photoshop 2017.1.1 on an Apple Imac Sierra 10.12.5. I navigate through Bridge, and like to set the "sort by" function to

"by filename", as I always give my images and folders appropriate names.  As soon as I turn to another application, the "sort by" reverts back to "sort by"

"date created".  This quirk has stayed with me through new computer, updated operating systems and several attempts to correct.  Any suggestions?

    Two I can think of:

    Reset Bridge Preferences:

Start Adobe Bridge and immediately press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) until the Reset Settings dialog box appears. Select all three options--Reset Preferences, Reset Standard Workspaces, and Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache--and then click OK.

Upgrade to Bridge CC 2018 or 8.0.0 It's free for all versions of Creative Cloud apps. Just so that Bridge 7.0 is not removed yet, uncheck "remove old versions" when you upgrade.

Also Photoshop 2017.1.2 is the latest version. You should update.
