How to block a file's smart object on psd.?

Is it possible to block the access of a group or smart object on a psd. file? In a nutshell, I'm sending this file for my client, but I do not want him to adjust anything at the group "background", how can I do that?

Make a copy of your PSD and rasterise the Smart objects and merge the groups you don't want editing before sending that copy.

When he/she has made his edits you can drag those edited layers into your master (or your SOs back to his copy whichever is quicker for you)

What is your obligation to your client. Why are you sending them PSD file at all. Why are you not sending them image copies Tiff, Jpeg, Png files?

Please explain what you are doing and post meaningful screenshots including the pertinet Panels.

Are the Smart Objects embedded, linked, from the Library, …?
