Question

How to change the keyboard shortcut for switching a brush to 'Clear'

I like to use the same brush (Kyle's) for my eraser, but I can't stand clicking on the pull-down menu and switching from 'Normal' to 'Clear' all the time. I know that Shift+ toggles through those brush modes, but where is the 'Clear' keystroke specifically found in the Keyboard Shortcuts mapping menu? I cannot find it for the life of me -- I'd like to just assign E to 'Clear' since I never use the standard eraser anymore.

Thanks Forum!

The E works for toggling mode in content aware fill, but as mentioned you cannot set a keystrokes to go to an exact blend mode

With your brush set to clear, make a new brush preset.

Check the settings to ensure the color mode is recorded

You then only need to click once to choose your favorite brushes

I am afraid that you can not assign letter E to Clear blending mode. However, you can still use Shift + Alt/Opt + R keyboard shortcut.
