How to Copy Layers to New Project

Hi all,

I have recently completed this tutorial:

https://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/create-a-retro-gold-leather-text-effect-in-adobe-photoshop--cms-22019

I am happy with the result, but want to copy my text layers and add them to a poster I have been working on. I've tried exporting the project as a png, then opening and trying to cut around the letters with the magic wand tool, but there must be a more straightforward way of doing it.

Any help is very much appreciated!

Many thanks,

To add to this slightly, Johnny, you can select the layers themselves in the layers panel when you drag and drop. Hold down the Shift key before you release to center them in the new image.

    • Shift to select multiple layers
    • Release Shift
    • Drag to other document
    • Hold Shift again to center in new document
    • Release the mouse before Shift
