How to create CIE 1931 Color Space-type diagram?

I'd like to create a CIE 1931 Color Space-type diagram. For illustrative purposes only, scientific accuracy not required. Making the blended colors has me stumped. My efforts so far are clumsy looking. Using Photoshop CC. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Cool Project. I tried using the Gradient Tool, One painted layers and smart Object to maintain edibility or scale.

Result:

Heres the PSD File should you wish to use it as a base.

D.A.R. –– good morning! Thank you for the description and the psd file. That gives me something to play around with. I can fool around with it to better understand how to manage it. Thanks so much!

Hi,

You could do an illustrative approximation using Color fill layers set to Linear Dodge (Add) and masks. I used Lab mode as it seemed to blend better

To get a more scientifically accurate result you may need to use a script

You're welcome. Actually there is a black layer at the bottom, not visible on the screenshot - it just made it easier to see when lining up the masks

It's not bad by any stretch, not from what I've searched. Might have to go full custom here and paint it in with various blend modes and layers.
