G'day,

Hi. I want to cut triangles or other shapes of the same size from many separate files/images then put them altogether in one image to make a virtual quilt.

Can I make a cut tool to repeatedly cut same shape in many files images?

You could record the creation of the Selection in an Action.

Or you could create a grayscale image of the shape and load that as a Selection in teh other images (Select > Load Selection).

    Or …

But you might want to go in another direction and create Groups with the appropriate Layer Masks in one file and then place the other images in there.

I am very thankful for your advice for such a simple task.

PECourtejoie recently recommended a Brush Tip in Wuick Mask Mode, which seems like another neat option.

But like I mentioned earlier it may be easier to create the Selections as Masks in one file and file them with the placed images (see screenshot).
