How to display custom guide in liquidfy?

Question

Let's say I have an image that's supposed to be circular but is not quite circular. So I want to use liquidfy to massage the image to be circular.

How do I superimpose a circle in liquidfy as a guide while I push the image around?

I tried the show background option but when turned on it prevents preview. If I turn it off and push the image around, then turn it back on, it just displays the image without the liquidfy changes.

Have you tried playing with the Use dropdown option within the Show Backdrop section inside the Liquify Properties? If you had a layer with a circle in your composition and you chose the appropriate layer within the option I think you might be able to achieve your goal.
