How to Exclude Specific Layer from Mixer Brush in Photoshop?

I'm trying to use the Mixer Brush tool in Photoshop to blend colors across multiple layers. However, I need to exclude a specific layer from being affected by the Mixer Brush. The layer I want to exclude is not locked, and hiding it is not a practical solution for my workflow.

Is there a way to exclude a specific layer from the Mixer Brush effect, or is there a workaround that can help me achieve this? Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated.
