How to get rid of the text overlapping issue

Hello! I am running into a problem when importing my text to my design space (I cut vinyl on a vinyl cutter)...I would like to get rid of the overlapping area of font on each layer (I don't want to flatten the entire image). Can anyone help with this problem? Thanks!
