how to leave a blank space inside text box in photoshop?

all the information I found is to put text into a shape, but I want to do the opposite, to leave a space inside the text box... any idea? Thank you?

While both InDesign and Illustrator support Text Wrap, you can fake it in Photoshop. See here:

This will not work on a hole though.

I recommend you use type oriented software like Indesign for this.
