how to make folder templates to resize and adjust photos automatically

Hello, I've had previous jobs where they had projects where I could drop photos into a folder and it would automatically add adjustments and also resize it.

I could drop a photo into a folder for a lower third and it would resize a head shot to fit into a small box automatically. another example is that I could drop a photo into folder and it would automatically adjust to fit in for a split screen.

Does anyone know I can do replicate this technique? thanks in advance

Just to make sure: Are you certain the process was run in Photoshop and not some other image editor?

it was definitely photoshop.

a photoshop project was setup for lower thirds. they had a folder in this project where all i had to do was drag the layer that had a headshot of a person into this folder and it would would automatically resize and move that headshot to fit into a box on the lower third. sorry my description isnt the best

basically they setup a photoshop project for lower thirds. it was for sports, so in this project there were different folders with different elements, one folder had a bunch of different layers with logos i could turn on and off depending on the team logo that was needed, i could turn on and off different colors.

so i would download a player head shot and when i dragged it into photoshop, i would then drag that layer into another folder, and it automatically resized and moved that head shot to fit into lower third

Please provide a better description and post screenshots to illustrate.

If you are talking about hotfolders please do a Forum seach, the issue has come up before.

But you might need some familiarity with Scripting.

You are talking about actual Folders as displayed in the explorer, where you drop files whereupon they get processed and the resulting images saved in some target folder?

What were the added adjustments exactly?

How familiar are you with Photoshop Scripting?
