Hello, I would like to know how to pixelate an image, a drawing, or a creation via Illsuatrator or Photoshop.

I have attached pictures to my post to give you an idea of what I want to achieve, I tried with the pixelation filters, but I can't seem to get a convincing result.

Thanks for reading and helping.

Adding to what Chuck and PEC said, I just wanted to give a shout-out to Illustrator:

Hello, those have been created pixel by pixel, they are illustrations, not the results of some filters.

The Brush in Pencil mode is useful, one can also work with Window>Arrange>new window for [document name] to see the image at different magnifications.

If you want to pixelate a photo, toi approximate that look, you can use: Filter>Pixelate>Mosaic, then work with different square brushes, with lock to grid, for instance. One could also recommend to  use Image>Adjustments>Posterize the image to reduce the number of colors. Working with adjustment layers and smart filters can give you some editability.

Enjoy!

If I want to increase the pixelation, I reduce the size of the image to the point where I like the pixelation. Then I increase the resolution back, but use nearest neighbor as the interpolation method.
