How to purge old "Custom Proof Condition" files after replacing my printer?

Photoshop version 23.2.0
Windows 10

I have just replaced an old, dead printer with a new one - same brand - different model - different inks. I had a bunch of custom proof setups saved for the old printer and I would like to get rid of them as the list is long and the setups are no longer relevant. I had thought to mearely remove them from the Windows directory... peter\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Color\Proofing but that didn't work. They persist.I have close Ps & Br and reopened but still they persist and I can load them into the Customize Proof Condition dialog box. This must be cached somewhere. How do I clean this up?

Peter

I think I was just trying to be too cute. I have issues with really throwing anything away, so I merely created a subdirectory and pushed the old .psf files into that subdirectory. But I guess Ps had a link to them and could find them even though they were no longer in the directory where they should be.

I have now moved them to another harddrive all together (I don't know why I just don't delete them) and I now can only see the files (shown above) for my new Canon PRO-300 printer.

Thanks,

Peter

You want to look for, and delete.psf files. The path on Mac is shown, don’t know off hand where on Windows they reside but it should be similar. Look for Proofing:

Did you run the unistall program to remove the old printer resource files?

To be clear, these are files that I created for my (now dead) Canon Pro9000. To help me toggle between different rendering intents and paper simulation on and off while I am proofing, before printing. So, no I did not uninstall anything, and I am not sure what printer resource files you refer to.

But I think I have this sorted out and I'll explain in my reply to Andrew's reply below.

Thanks,

Peter
