How to save a file and keep a large colour palette?

Hi guys!

I have a specific job for a client and I need help! Basically they want me to increase the size of a rug design which I have done fine but the file is only showing up to have 32 colours and they need it to have thousands of shades is there a way to increase this colour palette???

Does that mean it's indexed color? With a palette limited to 32 colors? In that case, that's all the information there is in the file. If you want more, you have to make it up. To do that, the first thing is to convert it to RGB - sRGB and 8 bit/channel is the base minimum. But you still have to make all those colors from the 32 you have.
