How to save images with different names using action?

Question

I would like to know on how to save images with different names using action.

For example, a file contains 2 layers, I would like to save each layer into jpg file with following names using action

Step 1) Turn on layer 1 to be visible only and save as Image1.jpg under folder C:\Images

Step 2) Turn on layer 2 to be visible only and save as Image2.jpg under folder C:\Images

Does anyone have any suggestions?

There is File > Export > Layers to Files, which can be put in an action and batched. But I have never tried it and don't know how layer/file naming works out - or whether a batch will be interrupted by a naming dialog for each image.

If that doesn't work you'll need a script. Try the scripting sub-forum.
