How to select better?

Hello

I've been trying to make precise selections of the play, forward and backwards buttons on Spotify. I've managed to make a decent selection using the pen tool. But is there an alternative way wherein I could achieve the same results without a lot of steps?

I'm not sure whether you can use Illustrator. This is the result I obtained in Illustrator with the Sketched Art tracing option (automatic, default setting). I changed the background after copying and pasting to demonstrate the outcome. Everything is a vector and can be altered or adjusted.
