How to update 32-bit Photoshop on 64-bit Windows?

I need both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Photoshop (32-bit is to support an old plugin, in particular, the TWAIN scanning plugin).  Adobe still makes the 32-bit version available as a download because the Creative Cloud app does not have a mechanism to install it.  (Download Photoshop)

Question — How do I update 32-bit Photoshop?  I applied the updates from yesterday and realized that 64-bit Photoshop is sitting at 19.1.1 while 32-bit is still 19.0.  Previously, the Creative Cloud app would handle updating the 32-bit version even if it would not handle the initial install.  Now, however, it seems to totally ignore it.

I can't find standalone downloads for the updates, and if I select the "Check for updates" option inside of Photoshop it just launches the Creative Cloud app.

Crazy workaround but I got 32-bit Photoshop updated.  Since it is looking like 19.1.6 will be the last 32-bit version (CC 2019 / version 20 is 64-bit only), hopefully this is a one-time process.

    1. Download the 32-bit Photoshop CC 2018 package (Download 32-bit Photoshop on Windows)
    2. Install on your 64-bit system; congratulations, you have Photoshop 19.0.
    3. Also install it on a 32-bit Windows system (find one somewhere or install it yourself, I used a 32-bit Windows 10 VM for this).  Note, it has to be Windows 7 or better.
    4. It will also install Adobe Creative Cloud.  Use Creative Cloud to update Photoshop to the latest release.  (19.1.6 as of this writing)
    5. On the 64-bit machine, locate the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 (32 Bit)" and rename or move it.
    6. Copy "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 (32 Bit)" from the 32-bit machine to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 (32 Bit)" on the 64-bit machine (replacing the folder that was removed).
    7. Done...  Working 32-bit Photoshop 19.1.6 installation on 64-bit Windows.

    Thanks, Adobe...
