I am on Mac and have Photoshop. There are photo files on my desktop that end in .cr2 When I try to open them, Photoshop opens but I get the following error message "photoshop cannot open this file. I have the latest version of Photoshop 13.06 x64

I am on Mac and have Photoshop. There are photo files on my desktop that end in .cr2    When I try to open them, Photoshop opens but I get the following error message "photoshop cannot open this file. I have the latest version of Photoshop 13.06 x64 Can you tell me, what is going on?

    The list of Canon cameras (.cr2 extension) and the version of Camera Raw needed to open them is located here: Cameras supported by Camera Raw

    Camera Raw 9.1.1 is the final version compatible with CS6. (Update to camera support policy in CS6 )

    You may need to add a step, converting the files from cr2 to dng using the DNG converter, download from here: Adobe Digital Negative Converter 9.x
