I can not create a video layer

Hello,

I can't create any video layer. When I try, the option is greyed out. I've tried different versions of Photoshop, but none of them have the option to create one. I'm using Mac Sonoma 14.7.3 and the latest versions of Photoshop as of today.

Any help is welcome, thanks

Is your Mac Intel or Apple Silicon (M1, M2 M3 or M4)?

(Apple>About This Mac)

What is the Image Mode and Bit Depth of your open document?

(Image>Mode)

If your Mac is Apple Silicon then a cause could be that Photoshop is running under Rosetta.

You can check by going to Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2025 right clicking on the Adobe Photoshop 2025.app

and click Get Info and see if Open using Rosetta is checked.
