I can't use liquify

when i try to use liquify, a gray screen appears with some lines where the faceis supposed to be. i tried the methods that were mentioned by other users such as disabling the "use graphics processor" or tried  "diactivate native canvas" but still nothing happens. am i doing something wrong?
