I cannot reduce or enlarge an image by dragging a corner

Does anyone know how it is possible that I can no longer reduce or enlarge an image by dragging the corners? The entire frame around the image is gone, including the corners.

    Hi

    What exact version of Photoshop do you have, can you post a screenshot with all the pertinent panels opened, have you tried hitting Ctrl/CMD + H which will toggle the visibility of the transform box
