Im trying to export my artboards and it keeps removing the black background

As i try and manually export each artboard with the black back ground added PS keeps either exporting as transparency (with png) or coverts the bg to white with export as jpeg. I dont know how to fix this. 

Ive tried making a seperate black bg as a solid color layer and added it behind each artboard but it still does the same thing. 

Please help.
