Image Metadata: Description Field length limits? (Photoshop CC 2018)

All ... is there a limit to how many characters I enter in the "Description" Field when following the menu path, File > File Info...? I see all the information saved.

BUT, when I export a JPEG and my Mac OS Preview app to view the file, and follow the menu path Tools > Show Inspector, within the IPTC tab, the Caption/Description ends with a "..." Apparently there is more there, but how can the full Description be viewed from the JPEG file? I hope this makes sense. I'm just looking to confirm that my full Description is transferred over to the JPEG file metadata.

How about verifying the Description field by right-clicking the image in Finder and choosing > Get Info? It's under the More Info category.

Or open Bridge, right click the file > File Info.

Both of these are displaying the compete Description field, even when Preview is truncating it.
