Alright, so I'm making an entry for a sig making contest with Photoshop but the only problem is that my background image exceeds the file size limit which is 750x285 by just a bit (like 500px something x 300px something) and I don't know what to do because I don't wanna stretch it either since then it would look horrendous. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

If we could see the image we may be able to offer a solution using Content Aware Scale that includes protecting certain areas that cannot tolerate distortion (wheels, for example) while changing the proportions of the rest of the image. Other options may also be apparent if you post the image along with final proportion.

You 750x285 imagell resize to a 500x190 image without distortion.

Well you can use the Warp tool in Transform to reduce areas that can be adjusted to match the pixel count in the contest rules.  Otherwise I'd suggest a redesign.  Start with the size image allowed this time.  That's the best way to keep on the right track from the begining.

It isn't clear whether you are talking about a limit on file size (such as 10 MB) or on pixels (such as 1024 x 768). Which one is it?
