Images gets brightened

Hi guys,

An Photoshop-amateur need some help 🙂

When putting images into Photoshop they often seem to get brightened.

Details in pre-made colored backgrounds disappear and when trying to remove a images background (white item on a white background) and needed to adjust edges manually, the edges is simply impossible to see.

I hope the above makes sense.

What to do?

Correct answer NB, colourmanagement

@marcd15154101 What is the source of your images, and how are you viewing them outside of Photoshop?

The issue you mention is often one of 2 things:
1: no embedded icc profile in the image (so Photoshop "presumes" the default from "color settings"

OR

2: Images viewed in a non-colour managed application so may be displayed incorrectly. Normally, Photoshop is "right" and the other application misleading the viewer.

I hope this helps

Please post the results you are getting, and also the original (or a link to it). Also, a screen shot of the Layers panel would help diagnose things.
