Images open choppy/glitchy Photoshop 22.5.1 from Lightroom on macOS

Same problem for me too. I waited for 22.5.1 release and for an hour or so this morning, things seemed back to normal. But no longer.  Slow, jumpy, and worst issue:  using Command E to open LR image into Photoshop with keyboard shortcut opens a fragmented image composed of blocks from the original file, but repeated over and over. Very frustrating. Closing without saving, then using the Menu Edit in Photoshop works on the second time, but why this confused translated image from LR?

Hi @pablopix ,

We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop. Would you mind telling us which macOS version are you working on?

You can try enabling the option to Deactivate Native Canvas in Photoshop by going to Preferences, then Technology Previews. Once done, quit & relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps.

Regards,

Nikunj

Hi Nikunj, i am using macOS Catalina Version 10.15.7

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020)

Processor  3.6 GHz 10-Core Intel Core i9

Memory  32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

Graphics  AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT 16 GB

My settings already included Deactivate Native Canvas and i am not Using Graphics Processor, although i have tried switching back and forth in my frustration with how slow Photoshop is working now.

I am uploading some examples of the problems i am experiencing, which basically fall into two categories:

1) slow, jerky, jumping around image when using PS, particularly when zoomed in 100% and trying to select with Polygonal Lasso Tool. The image will lurch a couple of inches, duplicate the partially selection, freeze, then wildly move the selection, replicating the partial selection in a larger size.  The only solution so far is to Escape the Lasso Tool and resize the image back to screen size.  See Screen Shot 2021-09-22 at 9.02.19 PM  and Screen Shot 2021-09-21 at 2.10.26 PM

2) Opening files from LR to edit in PS, i am getting fragmented images and strange backgrounds:

See  Adobe PS problem Photoshop strange background and Adobe PS problem Photoshop strange background 2

See Fragmented image Screen Shot 2021-09-02 at 9.53.33 PM and Fragmented image Screen Shot 2021-09-09 at 7.08.16 PM

The fragmented images occurred earlier this month, primarily when i used the keyboard shortcut to Edit in PS from LR, although it also happened when i used the Menu.

Right now the worst problem is how slowly PS is moving, for rubber stamping, making selections, moving an image around on the screen with either/both a scroll and the Navigation Tool. Keeps jumping around. Really driving me nuts. slowing me down.

Hi, did you try disabling the GPU acceleration in Lr?
