Importing data sets into multiple psd files - possible?

Hi,

I have a sheet that have different variables,
Example
Variable A
Variable B
Variable C
Variable D
And I have multiple photoshop files, that I want each one of the files to import a specific variable,
Example Psdfile1 will import Variable A and C from the sheet, while Psdfile2 will only Import variable D.

Is that possible?
Currently when i try to do that it shows me "there were too many variable names in the first line of text"

Appreciate your help!

@linjz

Variables have to exist in the file in Photoshop and exactly match the name and quantity of variables in the data set txt/csv file.

The error is telling you that if you have 2 variables in the Photoshoo file, and  your dataset file has 3 variables, then there is an error.

I don't believe that you can have a generic "master" dataset file that contains variables for all of your files, when each file uses a lesser number of variables.

I  believe that you will need to create or modify each dataset to only include the matching variables found in the target PSD file.

How are you currently creating the dataset variables in the PSD and the spreadsheet?

Setting up many variables using the Photoshop interface can be time consuming and (obviously) manual and tedious. Does anyknow if it is possible to script the creation of variables in Photoshop and or if such a script exists?

Thanks alot for your response Stephen, I've managed to hire a person to write a script that does the job above, so it is possible with a script 🙂
