Question

inaccurate search for filenames in File Explorer

I use  ~<22  in File Explorer to search for images with filenames starting with '22'  (the year they were taken).  Some older images with names not starting with '22' are included in the result. They have File Type 'Adobe Photoshop Image.22'. They don't appear in the equivalent Adobe Bridge search for filenames starting with '22' but I prefer to use File Explorer.

Is there a way to prevent the older files from appearing?

I have Adobe Photoshop Version: 22.5.8 20220609.r.998 0740d07 x64 with Windows10

@johne-j

In Adobe Bridge you can use the Filter tab to filter to images taken in 2022. I know this is not what you asked.

For questions about Windows File Explorer, it's best to ask on the Microsoft forums, as this is not an Adobe question. Click "Ask a question" in the top row.

Thank you for your prompt reply. No, I didn't ask that! It is the actual file name starting '22' I'm after.

I have sent the same question to Microsoft and I'll reply to you again if they have suggestions.

Just for info, I've not had acknowledgement or reply from the Microsoft Windows Forum.
