Info about changes to CC Companion App SDK

I have had a hard time finding good documentation for scripting for companion apps, but in particular I was wondering what if any new features are available in the latest sdk.  I am especially interested in being able to use a tablet as a real-time input device for painting with a pressure sensitive stylus. As far as I could tell, that was not possible before because the sdk seemed to only support pre-programmed actions rather than direct manipulation of the desktop canvas.

Can you give me any information on what is new and whether my particular interests are supported?
