Question

insert small animation above background at certain xy position

With PS CC2018 I created a little animation, it rotates over 3 seconds and then does some other stuff. I achieved this with the transform and opacity tool in the video timeline. Inside the timeline there are some key frames necessary for the animation.

I want to insert that animation at position X10 Y10 in front of a background and also insert a copy of that animation at position X80 Y80. Both animation are supposed to run simultaneously in front of the big background image.

How do I insert those two picture at a certain XY position without having to adjust the xy position in all the keyframes?

I hope you can understand my problem, if not I can rephrase.

Thanks!

I believe what you can do is select the animation layer, convert it to a smart object move the smart object to where you want it, duplicate the layer (ctrl-j on windows or cmd-j on mac) then move the second smart object to the other location.

I really hope that works, as I am going by memory and it isn't what it use to be. LOL.

Thanks, but that did not work, since I would have to mofify the x and y values in all the key frame. For example, the pictures xy is 400 400 by default, and in keyframe 2 it is 200 400, kf 3 is 400 400 again. The animation shows a moving item. If I put that animation in front of a large backgound and want to start at a different position like x 800 y400, I can just move it in position 800 800, but then for kf 2 it goes back to 200 400, but it should go to 200 800 and kf 3 800 800.

In other words, I would have to modify ALL the kf, which is a lot of manually work.

In other words, all the kf should be automodified when moving or rescaling the smart object

If you need more control, then I recommend that you try this in After Effects. It not only does key frames, but you can use a graph and scripting. Which provides more automation.
