Install and Activate CS6 with CC License?

I apologize if this has already been asked and answered. I'm trying to help a retiree using an older Mac who want's to use Photoshop but cannot use anything newer than CS6 (afaik). I suggested he might be able to install a legitimate version of CS6 and then activate it using a Creative Cloud subscription. I know that CC no longer includes CS6 as part of the Legacy versions, nor is it officially supported. But if he did have access to the installer (and updates) can it be activated if he has a valid Creative Cloud "Photoshop+Lightroom" subscription?

I tried calling Adobe Customer Service and was encouraged when they offered to connect me with someone in tech support .... but then I got a Chinese recorded message and and answering machine "beeeep" <g>.

If your friend cannot run Win10 or macOS Mojave or higher, tell him/her to use an online photo editor or freeware like Gimp.

Hi @rproulxmtl,

1. Creative Suite is discontinued and no longer supported. Sorry. Adobe removed it from Creative Cloud desktop app for a reason. They don't want you to use it anymore.

2. Even if you have an old CS6 installation disk and valid serial number, you cannot active it from Creative Cloud because they are two entirely separate things.

3. Adobe expects you to have modern equipment and software, no more than 2 versions back (Win10 or macOS Mojave+). Please refer to the latest CC system requirements from January 2021 below.

Minimum requirements to run Creative Cloud + OS + all other apps you use. Check each one.

Unfortunately, Adobe only provides installers for its current apps and the previous major version of each via the Creative Cloud.

Does he own a boxed copy of Creative Suite 6?
