Installation failed warning "Adobe Genuine Software Verification Failure"

I just got in my brand new Mac (operating 10.12.3) today and I am trying to install Photoshop.  I purchased the Creative Suite 6 Design Standard from and reputable store a few years ago.  I have installed the program on other computers since then and have not had any trouble.  However, now when I am trying to install it on my new machine it starts the process and then stops and gives me the error message "Adobe Genuine Software Verification Failure".  I am using an external DVD player if that matters, seeing as how the new Mac's do not have a DVD drive.  Please help!

CS6 is not supported on Mac Sierra and therefore, many of the Creative Suite installers may not function normally. See link below for workarounds.

Download the Design Standard here: Download Adobe Creative Suite 6 applications

and see if your serial number works on that.

I downloaded it and when I open it and select Install, I get an error message "Installer failed to initialize.  This could be due to a missing file.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." Which I learned has been discontinued.

    Try this:

Windows 64 bit (XP, Vista, 7):  Rename the Adobe folder in this path to Adobe2.

    C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers

    C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe2\Installers and try again.
