Installing PS CS4 wont accept CS serial for Upgrade Check

Reinstalling PS CS4 on new Windows 10 PC after old PC dies.

PS accepts CS4 serial number from CD but then asks to do an upgrade check. I had CS before, so I chose Adobe Photoshop CS and entered my old CS number.

It says that that serial number and product (PS CS) do not match.

Any way to avoid the Upgrade check on a CS4 Extended install?

Thanks,

David

Error: "This serial number is not for a qualifying product" | Adobe Creative Suite

    Look at this section:

Contact Adobe Customer Care for help unlocking your serial number.

If you register your CS serial number and it checks out, they can unlock your upgrade.

Only Customer Service can do this. Even if they do not support CS4, they should activate if all checks out.

Are you sure there's an upgrade for CS4?

You probably need to take out a subscription to the latest version, Photoshop CC2017. For around £10 a month you get Photoshop and Lightroom and upgrades as they become available, and you can install them on two computers.
