iPad Photoshop Brush Second Function (Eraser) Question - Need Help

Hello.  After doing some searching, it appears that there is still no way to double tap an Apple pencil to switch to the eraser in Photoshop.  The circle you hold down on the iPad to activate a tool's second function does seem to switch to the eraser, but not the one I want.

Whenever I hold down the second function, my eraser always exactly matches the size of my brush.  So when I am using a thin brush for drawing, my eraser is thin as well, which is totally unusable.  Is there a way to change this so that the eraser my second function defaults to is larger?

For some reason when I am on the eraser tool and I hold down the second function circle (even with a large eraser) my brush will stay thin as I would want it.  But the same doesn't happen in reverse, when I am using the brush tool.  Thanks.
