Question

Is it possible to set up these specific keyboard shortcuts in PS?

I would like to be able to control brush size with pressing down the option and command keys instead of the default control and option. I can't seem to find where I can adjust that in the keyboard shortcuts window. I also would like x to switch back from eraser to brush. I'm not sure if that's possible in PS. And Z to switch from mixer brush (or smudge) to brush. In Clip Studio this is what I normally have for my shortcuts and I would like to emulate it in PS as well.

There are some hardware options for adjusting Brush size,

A Wacom tablet's Express wheel

A MX Master 3's thumb wheel and forward and back buttons — and likely several other gaming mice.

If the function you want isn't available in any of the 4 modules in the keyboard shortcuts dialog, then no.

What you can use, is the spring loaded function. Hold the key to temporarily access that tool, then when you release the key it reverts to the previous tool.

The modifiers cannot be assigned as stand-alone shortcuts.

Hi @Sophia33482871bcd9 there is currently no way to edit the in-context key modifiers (not a shortcut) for this. There have been numerous requests over the years in the Ideas forum.
