Question

Is It Still True?!?

Is it still true that even CS6 won't let you save a psd file larger than 2gb still?  I know you can store in the psb format, but that format isn't compatable with Photomatix which I intend on using to further improve my eclipse post-processing.  I've converted to dng, but that is still larger than 2gb.  I'm stacking 20+ images.

Thanks

They don't support PSC.  They claim they support PSB, but when I attempt to open a file with that format, it refuses.  I've emailed their tech support.

Every application has limits and requirements. I do not work for Adobe but as you know Adobe has no size limit when saving layer documents into Psb file format . Therefore greater than 2GB is not a problem for Adobe.  Try to get Photomatix to support PSB files. It seems like they have a problem supporting PSB files.

J.J., would Tiff be better than PSD for the 4 GB size and the fact most software can read them?

Does Photomatix support Layered Tif files?. I do not know I do not use  Photomatix.   If it supports PSD they should add PSB support.

That's still true, but CS6 supports Large Document Format or PSB.
