Question

Is there a way to highlight the tool that is in use when using the darkest color theme in Photoshop?

If one uses the lightest or second lightest color themes (see Preferences>Interface colors nos. 1 and 2 from the right) one can easily see the highlighting of the tool in use (column on left hand side of the screen). However, when using the two darker colors on the left of the list previously mentioned, one cannot see the highlighting of the tool in use.

HEllo, It is the second request that I see with a lack of contrast that most other find acceptable.

I was wondering if your screen is properly set, if you are on a laptop, you can get more luminosity to your screen, or select a place where the sun does not shine on it, removing part of the contrast.

It is also possible that your eyesight might not be optimal, in this case, it might again be wise to ask for a more contrasty setting in all interface darkness values on the https://feedback.photoshop.com site, watched by Adobe staff. Make sure to provide as many relevant details as possible.

Dear PECourtejoie,

Thank you very much for your response which is appreciated. I am very grateful for your advice.I have attached a screenshot of my 'Preferences and another of the tools bar, with the type tool selected. I am sure you will agree that the highlighting could be a lot better. My system is Windows 10 (64 bit) and my PC is of a high spec.

desktop. I shall follow up by going to the address you provided to me.

Hi there,

Would you mind sharing a screenshot of the tools menu to demonstrate what you are referring to? Also, please share the version of Photoshop you are using along with your computers operating system.

If I understand correctly, you are not able to see the tool which is selected in the toolbar is you are working with the darkest theme in Photoshop. The selected tool does have a box around the tool icon indicating that it is selected.

Regards,

Nikunj
