Question

Is there a way to print multiple copies of a label at a time on the Primera LX series?

I have an LX500 label printer from Primera and find that I cannot print multiple copies of a label design at a time. I send a job of 25 and it prints 1 and then stops. This happens with when printing any number of copies greater than 1.

The printer works fine with other design software like Canva, Bartender, etc, etc so it seems software specific. Is there a patch to fix this?

OS: Windows 11

Version: latest

I think the problem here has to do with some incompatibility specifically between photoshop and the specific driver.

I'm using a Zebra GK420d label printer with Seagull Scientific Drivers. I was having the issue printing from Photoshop and my drivers were the 2023.2 drivers. I just upgraded the drivers downloaded from their website as of April 2024.

Photoshop print dialog going to Zebra printer through Seagull drivers, specifying multiple copies always only prints one copy.
Photoshop print dialog going to HP LaserJet through HP drivers, I can print multiple coples as expected.

Saving the label to a PDF file, opening in Foxit Reader and printing multiple copies to the Zebra printer with Seagull drivers, no problem at all and I get however many copies I specify.

So Photoshop is getting right with the HP printer, but not with the Zebra printer, even with the latest Seagull drivers.

Somebody from Photoshop printing team might want to talk to somebody at Seagull Scientific and Zebra to get this kink worked out.

My needs are relatively simple and I'm printing to 4x6 labels (I primarily print USPS and UPS labels, but sometimes I want to create a label for different purposes.

The document size is 4x6in, resolution is 203ppi, matching the printers resolution. When I output to PDF and open the PDF file, I set scaling to "none". That shouldn't make any adjustments ot the image in terms of aspect ratio or size. I do NOT select "fit to page" or any of the other options. For those having issues, try to adapt things to your printer using the same steps.

I'm having the same problem. I have a huge PSD file with about a hundred layers from which I print 20-100 different images daily. It has a levels adjustment layer that allows me to tweak all the sub layers at the same time. Printing from 20-100 different files every day using a different program is a non-starter.

Thing is, this is only a problem with the latest version of photoshop. I have photoshop cc 2015 on another computer and it prints just fine, every time.

Primera tech support insists it is a photoshop problem...

I do have the latest driver installed, yes. I can print from a PDF outside of PS but it looks off, like the sizing is wrong for some reason. I've reached out to the manufacturer and it looks like the driver and design software just aren't compatible 😓

Photoshop can print 1 label at a time, perfectly, but it really takes up a lot of my time to send 50-100 prints like that.

@Robin31872933e1pu I'm afraid this is likely to be a limitation in the printer manufacturer's driver software which Adobe hand over to during printing, number of copies is generally set in "print settings" - what you are seeing there is the printer manfactuer's driver software.

Please try the excellent suggestion from @Nancy OShea , but if that fails then you'll need, I think, to contact the printer manufacturer.

I hope this helps

Do you have the latest printer drivers from the manufacturer's web site?

Can you save as PDF and print from Acrobat?
