Issue opening .psd

I'm having trouble opening previous .psd files that I have made. 

 

When I open the file I get the "Problems were enountered reading layers" box

I click ok then I get the "Could not complete your request because of a program error." box.

 

I have tried all the fixes that I can find when google it and nothing has worked. This is with every single .psd file I have. 

I can open .jpgs of the same file but of course that doesn't have the layers that I can alter. 

 

I am using a Mac running Catelina 10.15.4 with Photoshop 2015.1

 

Any ideas?

Photoshop cc 2015.1 is not exactly compatible with macOS Catalina and could be the cause of the issue.

 

Upgrade to photoshop 2020 using the Creative Cloud Desktop Application.
