Issue with Filter Gallery Option in Photoshop After Applying Filters

Hello,

I'm encountering a bit of a snag with the Filter Gallery option in Photoshop and was wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar or might have a solution.

I've been working on this project where I needed to apply a series of filters to an image using the Filter Gallery. However, after applying these filters, I noticed that it had not changed the image at all.

To troubleshoot the issue, I also attempted to convert the layer into a smart object, hoping that might reset any potential glitches or conflicts. Unfortunately, even after converting the layer into a smart object, the Filter Gallery still doesn't apply changes.

I've worked with the Filter Gallery before without any problems, so this issue is quite baffling to me. I'm wondering if there might be a compatibility issue with the specific combination of filters I've applied or if there's something else I'm missing.

If anyone has encountered a similar problem or has any suggestions on how to resolve this, I would greatly appreciate your insights.

In addition to what's been said, what are your foreground and background swatched? Try typing "D" to reset them before applying a filter to see if that makes a difference.

And, yes, always make a Smart Object first so that your filters are editable. Otherwise they are destructive.

In the Filter Gallery is the Eye to the left of the applied filters seen?

If the Eye is off you won't see any the filters previewed.

Hi @Lucas31635122mi7w, I just tested a lot of the Filter Gallery options and all styles apply and save correctly for me (Windows 10; Photoshop 24.7.0 Release). Are you able to see the changes in the preview window, but the changes aren't there after clicking OK and returning to the layer? Are you applying your filters from an action or script? Does your original file already have a lot of layers applied? It's possible the combination is causing problems. If so, maybe try flattening all of them (Ctrl/Shift/Alt/E) to a new layer and trying the filters again on just that layer as a test. If you haven't tried a Preferences reset, that can sometimes help clear things out.
