Hi,

We're working with big (enormous) files. 140x140cm in more than 700dpi with several layers

Since 3 years we worked with El Capitan and CC2015 without any issues.

The Mac are MacPro 6.1 Late 2013 with 64GB memory, 1To HD

After an undefinied time the Mac is working very very slowly, after it's not possible to save the job, or anything else only the color wheel.

The only solution is to force to quit (loosing changes) and restart the Mac.

We have changed the memory without success.

We create a new admin user account ....

We have the same behaviour on several Mac

If you have an idea ....

Thanks

First of I suspect reducing History-steps may be useful.

What have you done about performance in general?

Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences (Photoshop > Preferences > Performance > Graphic Processor Settings) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

Do you use »Automatically Save Recovery Information Every …«?

just checked and El Capitan does not actually meet the system requirements for Photoshop CC 2020, see
