Issues (mostly) with Photoshop 24.3 since updating mac OS Ventura 13.3

Hi! Not sure if anyone else is having a terrible time with CC in general, but mostly once I open Photoshop (or Illustrator....but not nearly as bad) nothing works right. Either nothing happens or I can have a lag of about 30 seconds or more trying to do anything (select a tool, a layer, save....anything). It's similar with Illustrator as well but not nearly as bad. I'm unable to do anything productive in Photoshop/Illustrator and struggling in InDesign.... and hoping there's a fix in the works for this versus having to figure out how to revert back to Ventura 13.2.1 before I miss any more deadlines for work. Any help/insight is appreciated!

Have MacBook Pro 2021 M1 Max chip, Ventura 13.3 and all CC apps are showing up to date.

@Fotomaker01RA if you follow the instructions you can save all your prefs and replace them if it doesn't work, but many times issues like yours are caused from corrupt preference files and there is no way to know which one might be the culprit without starting with a clean slate.

Restore your preferences using this manual method:

Does it work correctly?

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Cory, What does your comment mean about restoring Preferences to default?

There's no way I'm resetting my Prefs to "out of the box". I've spent years customizing my Prefs and would never be able to get them back to where they are now. I did it once, not knowing everything would be reset, when a tech person on phone spt from Adobe said to do so. I learned to never (ever) do that again. My Ps was working fine until Ps 2023. And now there are significant response time lags - most notably in the Automate menu functions, but also Filter launching (some of the latter I attribute to bad coding by 3rd parties, but they aren't messing with Photomerge and other Adobe code).

I'm on Ps 24.1.1 and I have not updated Ps (or, Illustrator or Substance Suite or Bridge) b/c of all the issues I read about on these user forums - re: all those latest releases - that seem to have increased in number since the start of Ps 2023. Perhaps the company is getting too diluted in terms of focus by diversifying into so many tangential businesses ...

But, to your original post, with my Ps version I also experience serious 30 secs plus lags that I'd never experienced in earlier (Ps 2022 & earlier) versions of Ps.

I'm on a Win 11 Pro desktop PC, I have a 6 mos. new computer that (when I checked) met & exceeded the tech specs (AMD RX6800 XT, Intel i9 12 gen, 64GB RAM). If I try to use File > Automate functions (including Photomerge) my Ps sits there and does nada for at least 30 secs. I tried to do a display capture video but couldn't get that to work. I regularly shoot images to stitch into panos and Ps never (ever) did this prior to Ps 2023. Something in the code has gotten messed up.
