Issues with the Crop Tool

I am having issues trying to keep my cropped image the same size when I drag to a new canvas to print. I open the image, crop to the size I want, accept the crop but when I drag it to a new sheet, the crop ratio goes away. Is there a setting that I missed. I was able to do this before and made my workflow much faster.  It is very irritating.

If you have files that are cropped in a non-destructive manner, without altering the actual pixels, you can batch process them by recording a simple two-step action: first, select all, and then use the Image > Crop command. This will ensure that no extra pixels are present beyond the visible canvas or image area.

@annj98776483 while using the Crop tool check the options at the top to confirm you have "Delete Cropped Pixels" checked.

 

Otherwise you are simply adjusting the canvas size to "hide" the cropped area - when you drag to a new doc the original pixels are still there.
