Question

JavaScript code was missing Photoshop error

I recently went to Automate>merge a number of shots in Photoshop and was presented with the error 'JavaScript code was missing'.

I have Photoshop CS6 and CC installed on an iMac running High Sierra v10.13.6.

I have tried to find an answer to solving this issue, including suggestions on here. I have given read/write access to my admin account Library folder, set up a new admin user, and uninstalled and reinstalled CS6. None of this has worked.

I would appreciate any help to resolve this.

Regards,

Rob

You wrote you reinstalled photoshop cs6.

What about reinstalling photoshop cc?

Although that could be an adventure in itself since Adobe no longer has downloads for photoshop versions that work on High Sierra 10.13

What version of photoshop cc do you have?

Thanks for your reply. Photoshop CC is version 21.2.5 (2020).

There have been reports in the past that "JavaScript code was missing' error can be caused by a third party plugin.

You can disable third party plugins when starting photoshop by holding down the Shift key.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have tried what you suggested and, unfortunately, it made no difference. I still get the error message.

Rob

Forgot to add that the same two versions of Photoshop are installed on my MacBook Pro and I do not get the error. Thanks.
