JPG file image with a result from generative AI will corrupt after closing Photoshop 2024

I am using Photoshop 2024 v25.12 to expand photos (ex. from portrait to landscape). Often but randomly, the jpg image that I save will be corrupted when Photoshop is closed, even though the save process is 100% complete. I have also checked the image in File Explorer in good condition, but after Photoshop is closed the image is corrupted and cannot be opened in various applications.

This bug is very annoying because it's random, waiting 10 minutes to close Photoshop sometimes works, but sometimes the image remains corrupt.For important edits, I still rely on version 2023 because of this bug.

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Hey, @Yudhi322567191kkk. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll move your response to discussions for now. I'll need more info to help you figure this out. Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > upload and attach here.

Where do you save the output JPG? Is it stored on an external drive or in a folder associated with cloud backup services? Does this happen when saving a document with many layers & smart objects?

Try using File > Export > Export As and save the file in a local folder.

Also, try using Photoshop (beta) from the Creative Cloud desktop app & compare the results.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

@Sameer K , thank you for reply.

I save the output JPG on an internal HDD. This happens randomly with files with just 2 layers (original & generative expand layer). Even after merging and save as, it still happens.

Until now i using a trick to save JPG to another location, and copy the JPG to the original location, then close Photoshop.
JPG on other locations is corrupted, but the copy JPG is safe.

This happens when totally closed Photoshop, just close the document and nothing happens, after closing the document, wait a while, then close Photoshop, the JPG output is randomly corrupted, sometimes safe.

For example trying to quickly close Photoshop, or wait 5 minutes after closing the document, is still randomly corrupted.

@Sameer K

I have tried the latest Photoshop Beta and still got the same result.
This is the sample file, the original image and the corrupt file after generative expand & close Photoshop.

edit: the corrupt file disappeared from attachment when submitting this post. cannot send zip file.
