JPG/PNG/PAD to DST?

Hello,

I designed something for a client who is interested in putting the graphic on shirts, cups, hats, etc. I was contacted by the client who said that their embroidery company needs a DST file. I've never actually heard of this file type before, so I did some research and discovered it's for the embroidery machine to direct stitching. For starters I worry that the graphic might not translate well into a DST file. However my main concern is I'm not sure how to turn a PSD/JPG/PNG into a DST file? Does anyone have any advice on this?
